base:10 is a one-person Google Workspace add-on studio, run by a Google Workspace specialist based in Belgium with 30 years in IT — the last 15 as a Google Workspace for Education administrator. From day one the focus has been on automating school workflows — first with spreadsheet formulas, later with Google Apps Script, and today by building web apps that make everyday processes run smoothly.
Alongside the day-to-day admin work, I've run workshops for school staff on setting up and securing a Google Workspace domain, deploying and managing Chromebooks, working with formulas in Google Sheets, and getting started with Google Apps Script. Both add-ons grew directly out of the questions that kept coming up in those sessions.
Much of what I know I learned in the Google Docs Help Community (with an honorable mention for Stack Overflow). What began as a place to learn soon became a place to give back: after just a few months of answering questions I was invited to join the Google Product Experts Program in August 2014, where I earned the Platinum Product Expert badge and spent years helping users, schools, and organizations with spreadsheet formulas and Apps Script. Other professional challenges have since moved me to Product Expert Alumni status, but I'm still very much open to hearing about interesting projects.
All base:10 add-ons grew out of that same community work. The recurring questions about counting and summing by color and font style inspired me, ten years ago, to build the first version of Custom Count & Sum. Today it has been installed more than 300,000 times, and after ten years the time was right for a major update: rebuilt from the ground up and expanded from 15 to 38 functions.
SmartStamp came from the same place — a different recurring question, this time about tracking exactly when a row was last touched, without wiring up a script by hand. Same community, same itch to build the tool that should already exist. Still in development, not yet on the Google Workspace Marketplace.
SheetSync is the newest one — keeping data in sync between separate Google Sheets without copy-pasting or fragile IMPORTRANGE formulas. Also still in development, not yet on the Marketplace.
